Nice staff, and excellent old-center location

Airconditioning could not cut it during the day

The hotel is located in a less touristic and more simple part of the walled city and, although near to the center, the walk is a little dark at night. The rooms are very simple, but clean and new. The bed is confortable and overall it is a good cost/benefit.

Great location within the old city; only a few minutes walking to all the restaurants. Friendly staff. Rooms are good, tidy, simply decorated, but nice, very comfortable and very clean. Good shower. Great outdoor patio where the breakfast is served. Great if you like to stay within the old walled center of Cartgena. You can find taxi's that will bring you to the beach.

Hot tub was cold; It rained extremely on our arrival, so we had to wait a few minutes before the door was opened, because staff was working on keeping the premises out of water; not a big deal.

The rooms at the hotel were very clean. The bathroom was spacious and had updated amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The rooms were very minimalistic. There was no dresser/closet/anywhere to hang or put clothing. In some of the rooms there also is not a safety box to lock up valuables. While the staff was friendly, the manager was not. Several friends traveling with us had problems checking out, were overcharged, had to pay cash, etc.They were also not given a late checkout and had to store luggage in my room until they left later in the day. Breakfast was good, but very basic.Cartagena has a lot of choices in a similar price range and others offer better services and rooms.

Solid choice for good value stay in historical area of Cartagena. Very clean, quiet, relaxing, cable tv, wifi, reliable air conditioning and hot water, pleasant breakfast area, breezy terrace. Staff attentive and cheery. Secure with staff maintaining a locked gate.

Jacuzzi not really usable, not maintained.

Really nice and clean room, with an excellent bed. The location in the old centre is perfect!

The rooms are clean and the price is decent, all within the Old City. Breakfast is ok. Friendly staff.

- Room 11 doesn't have a hot facet for showers. was a surprise, as one of the selling points for this hotel is a hot shower. the staff say its broken, but the hot facet has never been installed in this room. A bit of lies here. - Room 12 is far away from the wireless router, so you can only use the internet at specific corner of the room - Internet breaks at least once a day - Room is very sparse. Only 1 chair in the room, and the furniture feels flimsy. I like to plan my day in the room, and couldnt do it with my partner as there werent seating options. - Though in the old city, its on the very edge - I wouldnt recommend this hotel to others. Though it was clean, its not a very comfortable room - Patio is more comfortable, but mosquitoes abound. - they help plan tours, but know little about what is included. Just there to accept money.

Well priced accommodation within the city walls. Cheaper than a private room with shared bathroom in one of the popular hostels, our room at Patio de la cruz was spacious & clean with good aircon, a small safe, cable tv & good private bathroom. Wholesome breakfast included.

A small fridge in the room would have been great for keeping water & snacks for when you've had enough of eating out all the time.

Location was great. Inside of the city walls and a quick walk to all of the attractions we wanted to see. Supermarket is less than a block away, very convenient. The staff was extremely helpful and breakfast included was nice. We felt very safe there, the staff locked the gate every time it was opened to let someone in or out. We were also very happy to have air conditioning!

Street (calle de la cruz) is very busy with shoppers - at least while we were there around the hopidays - which was a little annoying but we were happy to be on a populated street instead of an empty one. You have less than two minutes of hot water in the shower before you knock the power out in your room - but was so hot outside that it wasn't a big deal to take cool showers.

It's a very quaint hotel located in the old city. Very small city streets with gorgeous architecture. There is a beautiful view especially at night from the top patio and it has a small jacuzzi as well. Breakfast in the morning is fresh and served on the lower balcony. Two beds were put together for us and the room was perfect. We even had a small balcony that two people could stand outside and look down on the street. Would love to stay here again.

There was no phone in the room to call the front desk and it was difficult to find at first. But it is very easy to walk outside the room and talk to the front desk clerk from the stairs.

Clean rooms, friendly staff, excellent breakfast in nice patio area. Though the hotel is on a street that is a busy during the day, in the evening it is pretty quiet. Great location - within few minutes walk of the old city attractions - and for the money it's a bargain.

Hotel Patio de la Cruz is located in the old centre, close walking distance to great restaurants, shops and bars. The moment we arrived we were greeted by Dallis at reception who was a wonderful help our entire stay. She was delightful to deal with and her bright smile was one of the highlights of our visit. Her English was also great which was a relief, given our Spanish skills are a tad lacking. All in all a good hotel, in a great location, with one particularly lovely staff member!

It would be great if each room had their own small fridge.

Very noisy. Lots of sound from the street, the cafe area by the room, and workers working at odd hours. No hot water even though we were told before booking that there would be hot water.

The location. Hotel itself is just ok considering the price. I didnt like the additional charge on departure and not sure if this is legitimate - $10 for insurance. Room was clean but very basic.

The extra charge on departure and no bedside light if you wanted to read in the room.
